The short but bloody Georgia-South Ossetia conflict has taken toll on children as well as grown-ups. One of the oldest and most renowned Tskhinval's schools - school number five - will not be opening its doors on September 1 as it was destroyed in the recent fighting. It lost several pupils and a teacher in the war.
